Rebecca's Bridal Shower Cake
This was a small cake for about 20 people for a bridal shower for a friend. It was white cake, covered in ivory fondant and blue polka dots. It was a simple design but elegant. The L at the top was made out of fondant, and the bottom layer was lightly quilted. The colors matched the invitation as well.
Rebecca's Couple Shower Cake
This was a three tiered cake for about 75 people made in the middle of 100 degree weather in July. It had to travel about 30 miles, and by the time it was set up, it started to tilt. It was a couple's shower for a bridal couple and a great success. It was white cake and strawberry cake. Each layer was filled with vanilla butter cream and fresh cut strawberries. It was a challenge to do it, but enjoyed it.
Caroline's Polka Dot Cake
This cake was for dear friend's daughter who was turning 7. She had napkins and plates that were pink and lime green. She had seen a cake I had done earlier this summer and wanted it to resemble that one. It is two tiered with a vanilla buttercream filling. The outside is fondant covered with accents in fondant as well, and a brown ribbon as an accent too. After I looked at pictures, I realized that I had unconsciously put a hidden Mickey on it. Good thing they like Disney like me.
Chris 'GI Joe Cake
This cake was for a friend's son who wanted a GI Joe cake. The cake was yellow with vanilla buttercream filling and two tiered. The cake was all buttercream covered as camouflage and had toy soldiers as decorations. I used graham crackers as my "sand". This was the first boy cake I have done, and was pretty nervous. But it turned out cute, boyish, and Chris loved it.
